Sperry
The Sperry Top-sider is the original boat shoe being created by Paul Sperry in 1935. The inventor got the idea for the boat shoe by letting his dog out to exerice one Winter's morning, noticing how stable his dog was on the dangerous snow and ice. He then went back to his lab and after experimenting with a casual plimsole, some rubber and a razor blade he created the prototype which went on to be the Top-sider.
This simple aesthetic is carried into the design process this day, with understated white soles and simple yet fantastic colourways to emphasise this staple in casual clothing.
