HOBO International
Inspired by women everywhere, Toni Ray founded HOBO International in 1990 in Annapolis, Maryland. A veteran buyer in the leather industry (Ray was part of the team that made Georgetown Leather Design a destination store for the city's 'trendsetters' back in the 1960's), Ray's appreciation for fine materials ans quality construction became the main design considerations for her first collection. In addition to quality, she inherently believed that women needed function as well as fashion; she expertly fused these principles so that they became the foundation for each and every piece in the HOBO International collection. Now over twenty years since the first collection, HOBO International has earned a loyal industry and consumer following, as well as becoming a firm favourite with celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Julia Roberts, Hilary Duff and Cheryl Crow.
Designed for women by women, the collection is known for mixing practicality with cutting-edge design; offering beautiful, sophisticated yet functional pieces in gorgeous, mouthwatering colours.
The first collection of handbags were handcrafted in gorgeous natural leather, each having functional yet interesting interiors. The well-edited collection features clever purses, roomy totes, innovative weekenders and cute clutches, including the signature style, "Lauren" which was featured in the recent Sex and the City film.
